What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. It has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s.
Why do we use it?
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters.
Where does it come from?
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old.
Is the text copyright free?
Yes, Lorem Ipsum is public domain text and can be used freely in any project.
Does it have a meaning?
The text is a scrambled version of a Latin passage by Cicero, so while the words are real Latin, the sentences generally do not convey a coherent meaning.
Can I generate lists?
Currently, the tool generates blocks of text (paragraphs, sentences). You can format them into lists manually after copying.
Why use Lorem Ipsum instead of Text here?
Using Text here repeatedly looks unnatural. Lorem Ipsum has a normal distribution of letters, making the layout look more realistic.
Is there a limit to generation?
You can generate a large amount of text, but extremely high numbers (e.g., 10,000 paragraphs) might slow down the browser generation process.
Does it support other languages?
This tool generates the standard Latin Lorem Ipsum. For other languages, specialized generators would be needed.
Can I include HTML tags?
This tool generates plain text. You would need to wrap the output in <p> tags yourself for HTML use.
